As a part of the outreach of The Maryland State Boychoir Center for the Arts, concerts by outstanding local musicians, as well as the Boychoir, are presented as a part of The Music Forum Series.  Most of these concerts are held on Sunday afternoons and are free to the public.

 Sunday, November 6, 2011 (4 0′clock) - Hear the Baltimore Symphonic Band, under the direction of Christopher Wolfe, as they present works written and arranged for the symphonic band. A free will offering will be received.

December 11 (4 o’clock), 17 (7 o’clock), and 18 (4 o’clock), 2011 - Celebrate Christmas as The Maryland State Boychoir presents its 22nd annual Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, a service dating back to 1918 in Cambridge, England. This year’s service features special anthems by Bach, Stanford, Herbert Howells, Eleanor Daley, a commissioned work by David Ashley, as well as traditional carols. Sunday, January 29, 2012 (4 o’clock) - Hear the Misto di Voci Ensemble (Paula Hickey, clarinet; David Yarbrough, violin; Daniel Lau, piano) play works which are often unheard for this unique trio of instruments. A freewill offering will be received.

Monday, March 12, 2012 (7:30 o’clock) - Enjoy twice the amount of music as the Maryland State Boychoir is joined by the Trinity Choir in a joint performance. From Trinity University, the Trinity Choir will be visiting from the deep south in a San Antonio, Texas to share their beautiful choral music. This will be a free concert, so be sure to attend! A free will offering will be received.

Sunday, March 18, 2012 (4 o’clock) - Come and listen to the dynamic duo Beth Miller Ryan and Jean Shaffer Blair as they present both vocal solos and duets. They will be accompanied by Rebecca Jones Trout. Their selections will span centuries of traditional repertoire, as well as music written for the stage. A freewill offering will be received.

Saturday, March 25, 2012 (4 o’clock) - The Mercy Medical Center and The Maryland State Boychoir join forces to present The Healing Power of Music. Come to hear the boychoir as they are joined by The Healing Power of Music Community Chorus (consisting of medical personnel, cancer survivors, and other friends) in presenting music that brings comfort through song. Sunday, April 1, 2012 (4 o’clock) - Accompanied by Rebecca Jones Trout, listen to soprano Carol Lord Openhym and mezzo soprano Nicole Swann Bowers as they join together to present music of various musical genres.

Sunday, April 22, 2012 (4 o’clock) - Celebrate the coming of spring with The Maryland state Boychoir, under the diection of Stephen Holmes and Joseph Shortall, as they sing music ranging from Renissance pieces, lively spirituals and gospel songs, to masterful pieces from the 21st century.
